7 Incredible Films in Paris

With the absolutely horrendous and tragic events that happened in Paris over the weekend I thought I would put some focus on 7 incredible films (some of them all time favourites of mine) which are set or have a very big link to Paris in the film. It is an incredible city which I was lucky to visit on a school trip but did not fully appreciate all of the culture and buildings at 15 years old, I am sure I would appreciate it all a lot more now. The key thing about Paris by the films I have picked seems to be romance.

Casablanca – Review

One of my all time favourite films which gets better with each viewing. As I type this I am actually sat with a vest on that says “We’ll always have Paris”. They had an incredible time in Paris and even though it ends in heartbreak for Rick that was their special place with amazing memories.

Mrs ‘Arris Goes to Paris – Review

An absolute hidden gem as I doubt many people have experienced the brilliant Angela Lansbury as she saves up her savings for years to be able to head to Paris to buy a Dior dress. Not only that though as she ends up spending a bit of time and explores a few places whilst on her visit.

French Kiss

When her fiancé suddenly leaves her for a French woman Kate is not going to put up with that as she travels from Canada to try to win her man back. Little did she know the man she was sat with on the plane would change everything. So fantastic scenes as she constantly misses the Eiffel Tower.

Before Sunset – Review

After an incredible night in Vienna, nine years later the pair meet again in a book store in Paris and they realise that they still have that very strong connection and spark. Even though those nine years had passed nothing had really changed between them.

Midnight in Paris – Review

Considering I am not a massive Owen Wilson fan I totally fell in love with this film, showing that Paris is an incredible place to be. Although I know you can’t really travel back in time but this does show how beautiful the city is at night.

Moulin Rouge 

A musical with some very well-known songs and a very tragic romance which is all set in the very famous Paris club the Moulin Rouge. That school trip I mentioned? Some how we ended up just over the road from the place, I don’t think that was planned though.

The Aristocats 

Had to include this animated Disney film, as it does have a few special inside jokes with a friend. All set in Paris which is very good to see as only a couple of animated films (that I know of) are set in Paris. Not forgetting that it gets into the differences in class and how unimportant it can really be.
