A group of self obsessed Broadway stars who are struggling to get another job after a flop production decide to jump on a story about a school Prom being cancelled because a girl wants to take her girlfriend in Indiana. They figure using this to build some positive buzz for themselves.
Broadway legend Ann Reinking has sadly passed away at the age of 71. She was part of the original Chicago broadway cast and over the years spent a lot of time working on the show, which I must add is my all time favourite.
Rest in peace to a true musical theatre legend who you might know from films All That Jazz (1979) and Annie (1982). Especially considering this blog is named Let’s Go To The Movies and that song is performed by Reinking in the film.
Regina Fuller has returned to the small town that she owns after the death of her father and the plan is to sell it, without any care on how it will impact the people who live there. An angel appears to influence everything . . .
I totally adore musicals and theatre and lets face it totally missing that live singing and dancing that is so loved. So with Netflix having The Prom coming in December this is very exciting for sure! Especially given Meryl Streep is in it, who doesn’t adore her? We have a truly outstanding teaser trailer:
Disney+ have decided to give everyone a lovely teaser by releasing a new trailer for the up and coming Hamilton show that will be on from 3rd July. I have seen the show in the West End and looking forward to watching it again. I got more into the music after seeing the show, which I feel often happens as sometimes when you listen to a soundtrack for a musical first you aren’t often sure which characters are singing which parts and don’t get the story.
This is going to be absolutely massive in terms of number of views and will become the most watched thing on Disney+ in record timing!
