Well I am currently sat on a train on my return journey home from a couple of days in London. There’s something still so good about trains, and I always love films with a train in them. So decided to pick my 7 favourites!
Entrapment
Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
What films do you love on a train or with a good train scene?
The Station Agent comes to mind. Cool idea 🙂

Nice list. You gotta check out Snowpiercer, though. While you’re at it, you might want to give a look to: Unstoppable, Silver Streak, and Under Siege 2.

Your the second person to mention Snowpiercer! I’ve seen Unstoppable!

The Emperor of the North and Runaway Train spring to mind, Narrow Margin isn’t half bad either.

I totally should have thought about North by Northwest! Thanks for the other suggestions 🙂

North By Northwest, Palm Beach Story, The Narrow Margin and Twentieth Century are a few classics on trains. There’s also source code.

Source Code was a contender. Your the second person to mention North By Northwest, I cannot believe I missed that one, especially with how much I am loving Cary Grant again atm.

Check out Hitchcock’s early film The Lady Vanishes.

Strangers on a Train is the definitive film on a train. I love the visuals in that film. I’ve always loved it but studying it for film studies gave me a new perspective on the amazing motifs Hitchcock used.
