The Contractor (2022) Review

James Harper was a discharged US Special Forces sergeant and he risks everything for his families future when he joins a private contracting orgaisation and finds out that if things sound too good to be true then they probably are!

⭐️⭐️⭐️

Being discharged due to illegal steroids which he had been using to treat a knee injury. When his friend Mike explains the organisation he has been working for and the money he can quickly make, it really does sound like such an incredible offer. Ex-forces personnel working together, led by Rusty. I mean come on James trusts these men with his life, but could never have realised what was going to unfold.

Especially when he is given the money to clear the debts for his family, he firmly believes that the work they are doing is for the Department of Defense. Why wouldn’t he trust these men? Fellow veterans after all.

During the mission he spent most of the time watching a scientist named Salim and reporting back with the data. It then takes many twists and turns with loyality being pushed to the limits and wondering if you can ever really trust anyone.

The action and suspense does not take long to build up and we get to see some rather interesting scenes unfold and we are firmly on James’ side. He didn’t appear to know what he was letting himself in for and actually shows compassion where others don’t.

Chris Pine is a very engaging leading man and I found him very easy to watch and want to see win in this film. Throwing in Ben Foster and then Kiefer Sutherland in supporting roles worked quite nicely as well.
