An Appreciation: Carrie Fisher

The Last Jedi CreditToday is the first memory of Carrie Fisher’s death and having seen her final performance in The Last Jedi twice at the cinema I thought it was very appropriate to honour her memory today. Not only for the Star Wars franchise but Carrie is also in one of my all time favourite ever films When Harry Met Sally, as a truly fantastic character.

Aside from her iconic film roles she was a truely fantastic role model, someone I certainly wish I could be more like. She really did not care at all what anyone thought of her and spoke her mind. Who wouldn’t want to live just like that?

“I don’t want my life to imitate art, I want my life to be art.”

“Resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.”

“There is no point at which you can say, “Well, I’m successful now. I might as well take a nap.”

“As you get older, the pickings get slimmer, but the people don’t.”

“I really love the internet. They say chat-rooms are the trailer park of the internet but I find it amazing.”

There is no doubt at all that Carrie Fisher will always be remembered. It still makes me sad that I found out about her death whilst sitting in the cinema foyer waiting for to head in for Rogue One to start.

I have been trying to catch up with more of her films and will continue to do that!

Forever rest in peace Carrie Fisher ❤️

  1. Carrie Fisher was an icon in of herself, not just the characters she played on screen. I agree with you, I wish I could be more like Carrie Fisher too!

    1. We should all aim to be more like Carrie Fisher, I absolutely loved her interviews over what turned out to be her last couple of years and how she responded to trolls online.
