After seeing Allied last night it got me to thinking about how much I have always been into World War II. Although when I decided to put this list together I have now realised that I have not actually seen as many of the films based on this War as I actually expected. I therefore picked my seven favourites that I have seen (so far). Please let me know which ones are your favourites and which ones I should really watch!

Max Vatan is about to experience World War II in many different ways after he falls in love with the woman that is his fake wife during the resistance whilst in Casablanca. Will it be happily ever after when they are reunited in London?

One of the worst things about watching a lot of films has to be when your really looking forward to one. It has a lot of hype around it, it features one of your favourite actors, you like the sound of the story. You rush to see it at the cinema when it’s released and when it starts you are expecting a lot (probably the first problem) and in the end you are left feeling disappointed. Sometimes though even a little bit of hope for some films is too much and again you are disappointed as the credits roll.
After a day in battle Macbeth receives a prophecy from three witches that he will one day become King. This encourages his wife to put pressure on him to make it happen.
This is where it gets a little disappointing as I have only seen three out of the five nominated performances for this category. I don’t even remember hearing about ‘Two Days, One Night’ when that was released back in the summer in the UK. We are waiting for ‘Still Alice’ to be released which comes out in March sometime. So I will only be able to offer my thoughts on the other three nominees and look forward to seeing ‘Still Alice’ when it is released as well as trying to catch ‘Two Days, One Night’. Although you will probably know that only one actress is getting talked about when it comes to this category!
