2020 is the 15th anniversary of the BAFTA having the Rising Star Award which is voted for by the public. Starting in 2006 known as the Orange Rising Star Award and then since 2013 the EE Rising Star Award, this is due to sponsorship and pretty much helps the award with publicity and getting the public involved in the voting for the winner.
Over the years as I have become more and more obsessed with films I know more about the nominees which in all honesty makes me feel very special and at times very geeky. Which I personally love and am very proud of, I felt coming up to the 15th year it was very important to take a look back at not only the winners from each year but the other nominees as well. The list is very impressive and it feels as though someone at BAFTA can certainly pick out rising stars in the best possible way, the nominees are chosen regardless of gender, nationality and whether they have made a breakthrough in television, film or both.
Jean Grey is brought into the very complicated X-Men world we currently have, but when she accidentally gets some extra powers she has the ability to turn into a Dark Phoenix.

This list is getting tougher to put together which I think means that I manage to avoid the bad films that are released during the year, that being said though I still did see my share of pretty awful films. The list probably could be changed with any of the films taking the top spot so I guess its more just the ten films I thought were the worst in 2017 in all honesty, rather than a count down list!

Detective Harry Hole has been struggling with drinking and is no longer given any cases. When Katrine Bratt is transferred from Bergen he ends up helping her with an investigation into a sadistic serial killer.

Jenny and Steve are off for a romantic weekend away at Eden Lake, a very secluded place or so they had hoped until a group of unruly teens are about it spoil everything they had planned.
It seems very appropriate to post about this film (having seen Fassbender and Gleeson in Assassin’s Creed last night) which has been given a release date in the UK of March 3rd 2017
Cal Lynch is about to be given the lethal injection after murdering someone, but some people have something else in mind for him. He then gets to explore memories of his ancestor Aguilar, gaining the skills of a master assassin in the process.
