The big one for awards season! I don’t care what anyone says I still love the Oscars and really do like to see the films I love (and didn’t so much) create conversation on films! The 94th Academy Awards!
Here are the 2022 nominations!

This was my second proper full year of logging everything I watch on Letterboxd and it really is so helpful and useful for keeping track of which films you watched and being able to put tags on means you can then easily scroll through that way as well. My challenge for this year was to “review” each film as well, which meant I just put in a couple of comments about the film.
Here we can take a look at my 2021 stats and I am sure no one will be surprised with my most watched films either!
A new adaptation of the 1957 stage musical, focusing on the forbidden love story between Maria and Tony who belong on opposite sides of the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, which is massively due to the different ethnic backgrounds of the groups.
During World War II in German occupied Poland, Oskar Schindler is an industrialist who becomes increasingly concerned about his Jewish workforce after witnessing the horrific treatment by the Nazis. His efforts to save them puts his own life very much at risk, managing to save around 1110 jews based on a very true story.
I signed up for Letterboxd way back in 2015. Yes, really! Although I didn’t actually start using it properly until the end of 2019 and therefore 2020 was the first full year that I logged every single film that I watched. Albeit not as many Cinema films as I would have liked, which leads me on to saying during the lockdown/furlough stage I spent a lot of time logging in the diary all of the films I had seen at the Cinema dating back to 2003 (yes, I still have my Lord of the Rings: Return of the King ticket). This obviously took a few weeks as I also logged the films I have review on here as well. So as you imagine a lot of time was taken to do this. It gives some amazing all-time stats though.

When Jake Blues is released from prison he is reunited with his brother Elwood looking to put together his old band in an attempt to save the Catholic home where they were raised. It was never going to be an easy or straight forward journey that is for sure!
When Pete Sandich dies during a forest-fire which he was trying to put out from a plane, he is brought back to mentor a young pilot and to bring closer to his girlfriend Dorian Durston.
It seems fitting that I went to see The Irishman on Martin Scorsese’s birthday! Throughly enjoyed the film and his work is always outstanding. Happy birthday Marty!
