Preview: Lost at Christmas (2020)

Blue Finch Film Releasing and Magic Monkey Films are excited to announce that they are bringing Christmas cheer to the UK early with ‘Lost At Christmas‘ arriving in cinemas from 4th December – ahead of the film’s digital release on the 7th!

Directed by BAFTA nominee Ryan Hendrick, the film is based on the acclaimed short film Perfect Strangers and is Scotland’s first traditional Christmas movie. Featuring an incredible cast, including, Sylvester McCoy (Dr Who / The Hobbit),  Natalie Clark (The Last Bus), Kenny BoyleSanjeev Kohli (Still Game) & Clare Grogan (Gregory’s Girl) to name a few.

Lost At Christmas is set in the remote Scottish town of Fort William, on Christmas Eve, when life is turned upside down for Jen (Natalie Clark) and Rob (Kenny Boyle). Suddenly finding themselves heartbroken, single and stranded, they team up to try and reach home 100 miles away to be with their families. “Borrowing” Jen’s now ex-boyfriend’s classic car, the pair hit the road, but it’s not long before the weather turns for the worse forcing them to continue their journey on foot.

Bickering and bonding across the snowy Moors of Glencoe, they eventually arrive at a remote inn where they meet other guests dead set on avoiding the traditional Christmas joy. However, as Christmas Day draws closer, will happiness emerge and draw Jen and Rob together?

Lost at Christmas will bring you in from the cold, lighten your heart and provide the ultimate feel-good Christmas cinema experience.
Director Ryan Hendrick, who is excited to share his latest project with the world, said: “I am beyond thrilled our festive heart warmer is heading out into the world. It was a thrill to make and be surrounded by such a group of talented artists.

Lost at Christmas will be released in UK cinemas from 4th December and on Digital from 7th December

Really looking forward to this one, certainly looks like it has plenty of charm!

*Original title on IMDb is Perfect Strangers due to it being based on a short film with that name from 2015*

Cineworld Secret Screenings 1-10

Back in 2013 Cineworld started doing Secret Screenings for Unlimited members and by 2018 we had reached the 10th Secret Screening. In the past week we have had announcements for two taking place in July 2019! So I thought this was the best time to have a look back at the first ten films we got as special previews.

Cineworld have slightly changed the way they used to do them as for the early ones we got clues over the week building up to the screening date, but they stopped doing that and changed the running time and standard age of 15. This meant that we had a child free preview of Incredibles 2 and that was quite frankly outstanding!

Something they usually do in a very clever way is having the screenings not long before a huge release and people get taken in that it is going to be that film (yes, thinking about to Star Wars and it was actually In the Heart of the Sea). Not forgetting that we have also had a preview of a film that went on to become the Best Picture Oscar winner, Green Book. So we have certainly had many different genres in the Secret Screenings.

Cineworld Secret Screening 12 – Possible Films

F1F7A52A-12EE-4E1E-863D-FB90A1227C71

You wait seven months for another Secret Screening from Cineworld and in less than a week they announce two! So we no have number 12 on the way only twenty days after number 11! I have therefore decided to put together a second blog post and have left some films for this one as well with the dates fitting but also extending it!

Date: Monday 29th July 2019

As usual I will try and put together some guesses on films that it could be, my track record isn’t great but I do love looking forward and seeing which films are due to be released around this time. The 10th Secret Screening turned out to be Oscar Best Picture winner Green Book!

Cineworld Secret Screening 11 – Possible Films

F1F7A52A-12EE-4E1E-863D-FB90A1227C71

It will have been seven months since the 10th secret screening when we are given the 11th! Something that I hadn’t even thought about in all honesty, so always nice to have another screening like this, I enjoy going into the cinema and not knowing which film I am about to watch. I do always hope that everyone attending the screenings across the country will be willing to stay and watch which ever film we are given.

Mary Poppins Returns – First Songs!

I don’t even care how many blog posts I end up doing in the build up to Mary Poppins Returns being released. Disney have been very kind and given us two full songs to listen to to keep us going for the next few weeks ahead of the films release. So far we hadn’t heard any of the songs as the trailers didn’t have them in …
