Today is World Mental Health Day and I thought I would get involved with this blog post about my own mental health and how I find Cinema to be a fantastic way to keep it under control and a release from not only the world and life but from myself as well.
Considering Cineworld have just closed across the UK and Odeon are operating some cinemas on a weekend only, it seems even more appropriate to be talking about this. During the lockdown and period of time I was on furlough I also lost the best thing to keep me calm and at times sane. The cinema. While that might seem a little bit dramatic and over the top, it is the place where I truly switch off from everything and not look at my phone for a few hours. Something that is difficult when you are just at home.

As we are all more than aware a lot of kicking off has been going on within England and the UK about the changes to when and where you have to wear a mask. Yes, it is all being done four months too late. But seriously what big issue is it when they have changed the rules and from Friday we have to wear a face covering within shops? I don’t really understand what the issue is for doing this for the 15/20 minutes you will possibly be in said shop? Don’t even start by saying you cannot breathe with it on, as I am sure in the winter you will cover your face with a scarf/snood!

When it was announced by LEGO that a special Friends set would be available it has been something that I have been looking at getting, being the big Friends geek that I am. This eventually happened mainly due to lockdown in all honesty, because that pushed the decision to eventually buy it! Especially when Amazon had it £8 cheaper than the £64.99 retail price and it was unavailable direct from LEGO until the end of June, although now it is just out of stock and hard to find. So it seems I made the correct decision to purchase it.

I have decided that with the extended lockdown and therefore no cinema or many new releases that it is the time to work my way through those lovely lists that we build up. The Netflix queue, all the films I have recorded and downloaded on Sky that I have wanted to watch (Amazon and DVD/Blu-Ray list will be coming soon too).
Anything with a * next to it I have seen before but haven’t reviewed. As you can see I have so many films that I have at some point thought I wanted to watch. Since doing these lists yesterday morning I have crossed off The Philadelphia Story (it was recorded in August 2017) and Training Day.
If you have any films you think I should watch first and bump to essential viewing in the next view days please let me know!
