Obviously this film awards season year has been as strange as the rest of 2020 and 2021, therefore without our cinemas in the UK it has been an even tougher task to catch the award seasons films. So I have decided to try and help out by listing the ways you can watch the Oscar nominated films in the UK and possible dates if they are not currently available.
Another Round – 25th June (Cinema?) Borat Subsequent Moviefilm – Amazon Prime Video Da 5 Bloods – Netflix The Father – 11th June (Cinema?) I must apologise to everyone who takes part in the #FridayFakeCinemaClub for being disorganised over the past couple of weeks, returning physically to work has meant a lot less time on the Mac. Therefore I have now sorted a full schedule for April! I have also put in two double features as well.
Friday 2nd April – Concrete Cowboy (Netflix) 7pm Run (Netflix) 9pm
That’s right Star is coming to Disney+ here in the UK and that means so much more content, that will be updated with more content as time goes on. This is an amazing addition to the service and it will probably be worth checking out the TV Shows as some will be removed from other services.
So we have the trailer for the latest live action make the bad person look good film from Disney with Cruella. The worst thing is I am such a huge fan of Emma Stone (the rest of the cast is impressive as well) and then I just think this looks utterly pointless. Cruella DeVille wanted to kill puppies to make coat, I mean how is that going to be turned around or even approached?
Although I guess we can just assume that it will all be because a man broke her heart like in Maleficent right?
I place myself firmly on the fence whether I will actually watch this or not, I mean the more interesting thing will be if it goes straight to Disney+ and how much you will have to pay to watch it.
Welcome to 2021 when in the UK at least we currently don’t have the Cinema to attend. So I have come up with an alternative to try and keep everyone going as well as discussions around films that quite a few people have watched at the same time. Some of these you might have seen before or some could be new films, I will use a wide range of streaming services Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+ and even Sky Cinema (also included in Now TV). As I am UK based I will be going off what is available in our area, hopefully this is similar to different countries and can be transferred for more people to take part!
This was the first tweet I have put out about this to gage interest and really looking to push forward so if anyone would like to add films to the list, comment on this post, tweet me @LetsGoToTheMov7 or email firstname.lastname@example.org (Subject heading FFCC – Film Suggestion).
Considering the way 2020 went with the cinema closed for most of the year, even when they reopened the new films being offered were few and far between. Although I cannot really complain too much with getting to see all three Lord of the Rings extended editions twice something I had wanted to do for many years. So this year I have had to combine the small number of cinema films which include some 2019 films but due to UK release dates qualify for my top 10 best films of 2020 list! Then combined with films then added to streaming sites and catching up with some before the end of the year. At one point I was unsure if I could even pick a top 10, so it could be my most interesting yet!
