You may or may not be aware that I developed quite the Alec Baldwin obsession after being obsessed with It’s Complicated, yes feel free to utterly judge me! He turns 62 today so Happy Birthday to Alec Baldwin!
Having already mentioned what a huge year 2009 is for Let’s Go To The Movies, formed in the February to be exact. That was therefore a massive year in terms of reviews for 2009 films, catching as many as I possibly could at the cinema and then reviewing them. Something I have grown to love over the past decade!
I don’t feel as though this was really an outstanding decade in terms of films and/or performances but we certainly were given plenty of entertainment. The 3D film was pushed a lot and in a few different ways which is something that Avatar really was groundbreaking with, however after ten years maybe that film was more of a gimmick than actually an amazing film? I certainly think so.
Ron Stallworth is an African-American police officer in Colorado Springs and he managed to infiltrate the local Ku Klux Klan branch with the help of Flip Zimmerman a fellow police officer who just happens to be Jewish. The pair being posing as the same man Ron, manage to become the leader of the branch. This film is based on actual events.
Throughout 2018 I managed to catch up with 48 older films and have decided to put together a top 10 list out of those films. You will be probably be quite surprised that some of these films I did not see until recently as some quality films. Always good to set yourself a challenge to catch up. I am happy that I managed to get 48 first time watches of films that does not include new cinema releases. With the films I have chosen for my top 10 list I pretty much was left wondering why I had never seen the film before!
Here are the 10 films that have made my list (in no particular order) . . .
We all have our favourite image of Santa Claus from watching films and feel as though that is our Santa! I have decided to pick my favourite seven from the world of the movies! Obviously having to start with this amazing photo of Buddy the Elf who is very excited about this list!
So many to choose from over the years of film and some of the choices I found very easy and others I have tried to be a little bit different in terms of the films I have enjoyed which may just have a slightly different take on the role we all know and love.
Jackson Maine a musician who is struggling to cope with his life is about to have it changed when he meets Ally, a young singer helping her to find fame and use her songwriting gift.
Bill Oakland a novelist is left blinded after a car crash which also killed his wife and must now have people read stories written by his students. Suzanne Dutchman must do this three times a week after a court order for community service as her husband Mark has been involved with insider trading.
