RIP Olivia de Havilland

At the truly remarkable age of 104 Olivia de Havilland has passed away peacefully in her sleep, a double Oscar winner who was nominated five times overall. Probably most well known for her role as Melanie in Gone with the Wind.

She made her breakthrough opposite Errol Flynn in Captain Blood. She continued to act until the late 1980s. She took on studios off screen at a time when they had complete control over the stars.

Rest in Peace to one of Golden Hollywood’s outstanding stars.

RIP Naya Rivera

After going missing on 8th July while on a boat with her four year old son Naya Rivera was presumed to have drowned, after days of searching the lake and surrounding areas a body was recovered today and has since been confirmed of that of Naya. A truly tragic and heartbreaking story for the 33 year old to have lost her life.

Well known for playing Santana in Glee, one of my all time favourite shows. Truly hard to come to terms with her passing at this age.

Rest In Peace ❤️

RIP Ennio Morricone

Legendary Italian composer Ennio Morricone has passed away aged 91 in Rome.

Affectionately known as ‘Maestro’ he is involved in some of the most memorable scores in film history.

Once Upon a Time in America, The Untouchables, Cinema Paradiso, The Hateful Eight. His haunting melodies for Sergio Leone’s trilogy of westerns A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. A lot of these films I have caught up with watching over the past few months and the scores blew me away each and every time.

He was presented with an honorary Oscar in 2007 and then went on to win for The Hateful Eight.

Let’s take a little bit of time to appreciate some of his most famous music from films . . .
