I didn’t think BlacKkKlansman was anything special either in all honesty, very average year with nothing really standing out.

To me BlacKkKlansman, The man who killed Don Quixote, and Isle of Dogs were the best movies of the year. And the best one (in my opinion) hasn’t been nominated for anything!

Don’t understand all this hype for Black Panther, it wasn’t as if it was even the best Marvel film of the year, nevermind best movie or cast of 2018.

I can totally understand that, I liked and enjoyed the film but I know what you mean it wasn’t that good!

The Screen Actors Guidl Ensemble award is a chance for films like “Black Panther” to be honored for the work of a large group – note that none were nominated any any of the individual acting categories,,,and what a surprise for Emily Blunt – who isn’t even Oscar nominated! By the way, the SAG members of the largest voting block for the Academy Awards, so their choices matter!

I know this is usually the biggest indicator isn’t it! I feel anyone other than Close for lead actress would be an upset now, hoping she can hold on as I adored her in The Wife.
I really don’t want Malek to win the Oscar mind I think he’s poor in comparison.

I agree, Malek’s performance seemed a bit too much like an impersonation – while he was really strong, it’s not the best performance of the year by far! And I think Close nailed her Oscar win with her amazing speech at the Golden Globes – it got EVERYONE’S attention in Hollywood and she is really “working the room” as they say!
