Since Thor: Ragnarok has been on Sky Cinema the past few weeks I have found myself watching it over and over again. I am actually very annoyed with myself for not including it in my top 10 films of 2017. I have no idea at all why I didn’t put it on the list as it really is a truly fantastic Marvel film!
I have actually lost count how many times I have watched it since it appeared on Sky Cinema. I will eventually buy it on 4K Blu-ray I promise!
Cate Blanchett as Hela, I mean we already know that she is a truly incredible and outstanding actress and she totally does offer another level of super villain in this Marvel film. Given some humorous lines as well to mix in with the pure evil.
Thor’s face when he sees Hulk, how happy he is not thinking that the Hulk won’t share his joy. “We know each other from work” like seriously so many small lines from Thor in this film were so cute and showing that he really did not think too much about well anything. His happiness is short-lived when it doesn’t take long for the Hulk to attack him!
Warrior Hulk, looks pretty awesome right? Of course he does, but we cannot help but worry about Banner and if he will ever get out. It doesn’t take long before he wants to smash Thor apart.
Get help, as Thor says himself an absolute classic and I am sure this will be regarded as one of the best moments in the film. Even if Loki does not want to do it. I think that actually makes it even better.
I prefer you, when trying to win them round to get what he wants, Thor tells the Hulk he prefers him and Banner he prefers him. Both of which are great moments as well. It’s all just well pretty cute isn’t it, yes I have gone there and called Thor cute!
Kick ass female character in Valkyrie that just so happens to be on the planet Sakaar, where Thor is being held as a prisoner. It takes some persuading for her to actually help and join them, when she does it is all pretty awesome.
The general happiness the film actually brings, with the mixture of the jokes and how likeable Hemsworth has made Thor, who clearly isn’t the brightest but we love him so much now! Visually as well the film is pretty stunning it has to be said, with the contrast of the bright colours and the differences between the planets that they visit throughout.
I really do hope this had more than made up for not having this film on my top 10 list for 2017. It really is a lot of fun and exactly what a comic book movie should be in my opinon. What parts did you like the best in Thor: Ragnarok and where do you rank it within the Marvel Universe?
Great post. I burnt out on the Marvel universe, so this was a welcome return for me – a perfect blend of real human emotion, sharp dialogue, and of course action….

Love love love this movie! So quotable: “I have been falling for THIRTY minutes!” / “Thor, son of Odin” “Surtur, son of a b…” / “I tried to start a revolution but didn’t print enough pamphlets”… 🙂

This was such a great post – totally agree with you about all these amazing things! I especially love ‘Get Help’ as well as Loki’s reaction to when Hulk throws Thor about!!

Thanks! I felt I needed to put this together with failing to have the film in my top 10 list. Then later when Loki says, I’m not doing get help 😂

It was a perfect ending for the ‘Thor Trilogy’, all of which I loved. 😀 … how about Loki pretending to be Odin? Anthony Hopkins looked like he was having so much fun there. Skurge’s last moment was rather heroic. He had quite the story arc, which is such a jam-packed movie, was quite a feat.
P.S. Cate’s character was Hela, not Helga. 🙂 … and no-one has ever sat upon a throne like she did! 😀

Ah yes with Matt Damon as part of the act! Amazing.
Ah thanks for spotting that it must have been autocorrected and I didn’t notice. *goes to edit*

AWESOME post! I absolutely loved everything about this movie, and I’m not a die-hard Marvel fan! Tessa Thompson is such a great surprise in everything she’s been doing lately, and this is no exception.

I am so pleased so many people have so much love for this film! I eventually got to see Ant-Man and the Wasp last night and enjoyed that too.
