My 7 Favourite American Football Films

Inspired by Super Bowl Sunday I thought this was the perfect opportunity to put together my list of films that I love which are about American Football. Just remember though that my knowledge of American Football is not fantastic but I really do love the films about it, working in sport I just find myself obsessed with all different sports films.

My choices are covering many different aspects of the sport and how it really can be used to change and help with so many different things in life! American Football films do have a high quality in performances and storylines to go along with some great quotes and speeches!

Remember the Titans (2000)
This is easily my favourite in the list and that is because of how many different issues it comes up against, something that is truly outstanding from start to finish. We will remember the titans!

Rudy (1993)
A young man who dreamed of nothing more than playing football for Notre Dame and it really does have such an incredible ending.

Concussion (2015)
An in-depth look at concussion and how a Doctor fought to change the rules to help protect the players. Something which has seen transferred to many different sports.

Any Given Sunday (1999)
This has quite possibly one of the best speeches in a sports film, it’s truly incredible and inspirational. So much so that I have heard it played on many different coaching courses.

The Blind Side (2009)
A family coming together to help the young man out, Bullock receiving an Oscar for her efforts (in all honesty didn’t think she was that good) but an inspiring film.

Draft Day (2014)
I found this one a very interesting look behind the scenes at the draft and how dodgy it all is, we don’t have anything like this in the UK.

Jerry Maguire (1996)
A look into the agents in the game and how they do everything for the players they represent.
