  1. I shared a blog post looking at some interesting nominations, like two for Greta Gerwig including Best Director, Mary J. Blige was double nominated as well, for Best Supporting Actress as well as Best Original Song, Jordan Peele was nominated three times, and Christopher Plummer is oldest Oscar nominee of all time for a film he was added two a month before release! – https://johnrieber.com/2018/01/23/oscar-2017-the-shape-of-water-gets-13-nominations-get-out-scores-mary-j-blige-gets-two-nominations-greta-gerwig-too-2017-oscar-nominations-are-here-oldest-nomination-as-well/

  2. In an alternate universe where BR2049 actually made some money, I’m sure Villeneuve would have gotten a nom. Which says everything about Oscar, unfortunately. That Christopher Plummer nomination is some kind of joke. Is it some kind of political statement against Kevin Spacey? Give me a break.

    • Yeah the Plummer one does seem to be because of the short notice etc. I personally thought he was brilliant in that film but could have been so different.
