Some very exciting Theatre news was announced yesterday the Premiere of a brand new musical and adapted from classic film and one of my favourites An Officer and a Gentleman. Something to look forward to in 2018!
The musical is going to include the hit song from the film ‘Up Where We Belong’ along, with 80’s classics such as ‘Alone’, ‘Don’t Cry Out Loud’, ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’, ‘Toy Soldiers’ and ‘Material Girl’. Now, come on don’t you just really want to see this musical a lot now? I certainly do and I will be buying tickets tomorrow when they go on sale for the show coming to Newcastle.

This will be interesting to see…this film is remembered as a great love story, just as “Saturday Night Fever” is remembered as a fun dance movie – yet both films have VERY DARK subplots in them…I assume they don’t make it to the stage!

I’ll be finding out in June 2018 ;-). Was very unexpected when I saw the tweet, got the emails and a poster through the door in the post! I guess they wanted to make a very big deal about this one! I think it will sell a lot of tickets.

I agree – I was surprised that “Groundhog Day” has already closed on Broadway – reviews were great, everyone loves the film, strange it didn’t connect better…

Yes, they just announced – last week this week and done – they plan to take it out on the road where it might do better!

SUCh a shame as it did much better in London!

Yes, I was surprised…Bill Murray attended several times – a “seal of approval” – but I don’t think it had a star attached and that makes a huge difference unfortunately

Such a shame as Andy Karl is outstanding! I loved how Murray attended two nights in a row and everyone was looking for him the third night!
