Musical Moments – Les Miserables

Yes, you guessed it after seeing the show in the West End on Wednesday I am even more obsessed with it. I have seen bought both concert anniversary versions and re-watched the film. So I thought that I needed to have it as today’s musical moment, I have decided to pick ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ who cannot at times relate to this haunting song and let’s face it this rendition won Anne Hathaway a Best Supporting Actress Oscar!

  1. I used to really enjoy Les Miserables, I even wrote about it for a school project, but over the years I have grown to dislike it but I respect your opinion on it.

    1. That happens with shows etc. I hadn’t seen it on stage until Wednesday and it really blew me away in so many different ways compared to any other musical I have seen.

  2. I have an interesting story of my obsession with the musical. I fell in love with it through the movie, then saw the stage show at community college (phenomenal production), then saw the 25th concert, and then saw the stage show at the Queen’s.

I became obsessed through the movie. I continued to see my passion for the show grow and grow. I could tell through how much the emotions have changed. When I finally saw it at the Queen’s, it pushed my obsession of the show to a whole new level. Through the West End production, I started to call the show epic. The strength of the emotions (no words to describe) along with the strength of the cast. There is just something about Les Mis and I don’t know what that makes it so unique compared to other musicals.

    1. I totally can understand what you mean and where your coming from with it really is something special. I think I have doubted it for so long but it really is incredible!

Chicago was the musical that really started and pushed on my love for theatre and musicals! Excited to see it on stage again next week.

  3. I wish I could watch the West End production because I wasn’t a big fan of the movie. The music is great though, the songs… everything. I’d love to watch it performed on stage, I can imagine seeing it being performed live adds that little bit of extra excitement. I’m really liking your blog.
