A Timely Blogathon

As movie bloggers, we all need to find the time and energy to juggle both tasks of watching a movie and then writing our review of it online.

They can be very time consuming activities, so Anna (of Film Grimoire) and Rob (MovieRob) have thought of a temporary solution.

It’s a very timely theme and this Blogathon will be all about Time-saving movies, 90 minutes or less.

You can pick any movie (or movies) that your heart desires as long as it’s official run time is less than 90 minutes.

I have decided to keep it in with my 7 Things style posts and have decided to pick 7 films that that are less than 90 minutes. I think I have managed to pick a good range in genre in my choice . . .

Locke (85 minutes) Review

Tom Hardy in the car for the full film, with only voices of the people he was talking to on the phone as company. Might not sound outstanding but it really is a powerful film, just think about it driving a car is one of the places we spend a lot of time alone. Maybe not going through what he is, but showing how helpless you can be as you’re driving.

Brief Encounter (86 minutes) Review

One of my favourite films which involves trains and such a truly tragic love story. Even though it has its incredible moments, still with so many relevant themes from this 1945 film which must have been massively shocking at the time.

Beetlejuice (82 minutes)

Michael Keaton is Beetlejuice. Do you really need anymore reason to watch this one? Ok Alec Baldwin is in it as well? But seriously though this film is so off the wall, it is well worth the watch. Exciting that a second film is being talked about at the moment.

Duck Soup (68 minutes)

You have no excuse not to watch this one as the running time is so short. Which flies over even quicker with the fantastic wit and wisdom from Groucho Marx. If you find yourself wanting to check out the Marx Brothers then this one is certainly the film to watch.

Toy Story (81 minutes) Review

One of the very best animated films of all time. It fits perfectly into this category with it’s running time. If I could only include one animated film it would certainly have to be this one! One of those films that make me feel like a kid again when I am watching it.

Sorry, Wrong Number (89 minutes) Review

An intense drama/thriller which shows why you shouldn’t listen in to phone conversations. Not that it is really possible the way phones have now gone, but something that shows that eavesdropping is never a good idea as you don’t know what kind of trouble you will get into.

Zoolander (90 minutes) Review

I re-watched this film recently and it is funny. Stupid funny. Silly funny. But don’t we sometimes need that kind of comedy film in our lives? I think so as I wouldn’t usually say comedy films are my favourite genre but this one is exactly 90 minutes (hope thats ok) is one of those that could just cheer you up on a low day!

What films 90 minutes or less would you pick?
