Fast & Furious 6 (2013) Review

Hobbs has Dom and Brian reassemble their crew in order to take down a mastermind who commands an organization of mercenary drivers across 12 countries.

It doesn’t take long for the high paced action to start in this film and the storyline to go with it keeps you engaged as well. Shaw the man they are up against is pretty evil towards the people that work for him. Another thing though is that he has Letty which really makes Dom determined to bring Shaw down and get Letty back. But it’s not as simple as that, she cannot remember anything about her life from before the accident.

The film has a very good mix of some serious moments but also comedy moments as well. You cannot help but smile and laugh at some of the things that go on between the characters. The constant mentions that they are family, is totally believable by how close they are and how they act towards each other. I would say I know and loved them as well but I am not even sure which other films I have seen in the series. Yes I have no idea why I haven’t seen all of the films, I guess I just didn’t realise what I was missing!

Really enjoyed this film from start to finish, yes some things were rather over the top but that makes a good film for entertainment reasons. I thought the fight scenes were very good and really enjoy watching The Rock in films he really does have something about him which ever role he is in. Plus he gets to lay the smack down  on a few people, which is nice to see from a former wrestling fan!

It really does put a massive emphasis on friendship and how important family are and how well they can actually work together. Not forgetting that we get plenty of fast car action. Comedy one liners from Tej and Roman really adding something extra to the film through those moments. I really did enjoy this film and the twist at the end showing that we will be back for a 7th film and the man who appears I was like wow impressive. Won’t spoil that though! But let’s just say 7 is going to be even better than 6!

  1. So excited for Furious 7! Though the series has had its ups and downs, I do recommend viewing all of it one day. For the later films, I am surprised at how well they do comedy, they are better at it than some comedies! Fast Five is still my favorite.
